The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), in partnership with Reel to Real through the Special Partnership Program, screens "Perfumed Nightmare" by National Artist Kidlat Tahimik at the FDCP Cinematheque Centre Manila on July 8, 2026, at 5 p.m.

The screening is part of "Reel to Real: Pelikula at Panayam." In his acclaimed debut, Tahimik stars as a Filipino jeepney driver drawn in by America's space program and the promise of the Western dream, then forced to reckon with what's actually behind it.

Stick around after the film for a talkback with cinematographer Lee Briones-Meily, who will dig into Tahimik's approach to filmmaking, the film's artistic weight, and why it still resonates decades later.

Admission is walk-in, first-come, first-served.

"Reel to Real: Pelikula at Panayam" runs monthly, pairing screenings with talkback sessions to bring classic and contemporary Filipino cinema to new audiences.
