More than a year after launch, the Filipino multiplayer chase game Critters Breakout is still putting its platform behind animal welfare, working with several of the Philippines' leading animal welfare groups to support rescue, adoption and humane education efforts.
Developed by Manila-based studio Big Infinity Manila, Critters Breakout debuted in 2025. Since then, the studio has kept it active through updates, community events and advocacy partnerships that reach beyond the game itself.
Its advocacy partners include CARA Welfare Philippines, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Animal Kingdom Foundation's Pawssion Project, Strays Worth Saving, Biyaya Animal Care, The Cat House, the International Veterinary Students' Association (IVSA) Philippines, Philippine Animal Rescue Team (PART),and independent cat advocate Romeo Theo Carinosa. Each group works a different corner of the same cause — responsible pet ownership, adoption, rescue and rehabilitation, and public education on animal care.
For Big Infinity Manila, the partnerships double as proof that a homegrown studio's original IP can do more than entertain. The company says it plans to keep building on these relationships as Critters Breakout grows, using the game as a bridge between its player base and the groups doing the hands-on work of animal rescue.
Critters Breakout is available now on Steam for PC and Google Play for Android. More details on the game and its partners are at www.crittersbreakout.com.
