SEOUL — G-Dragon is channeling childhood nostalgia into fashion. The K-pop artist has partnered with The Walt Disney Company Korea on a Toy Story-inspired collection through his label PEACEMINUSONE, reimagining some of animation's most beloved characters through his signature aesthetic.
The collection, titled The First Fan, is built around a simple but charming concept: the toys that surrounded G-Dragon growing up were his earliest supporters. It launched June 24 and will eventually roll out to more than 10 cities across the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the Korea Herald, the collaboration marks Disney Korea's first large-scale partnership with a K-pop artist that goes beyond merchandise to encompass the overall retail experience. G-Dragon and his team were involved in the creative direction of both the products and the in-store presentation.
Disney said the partnership weaves together Toy Story's core themes of imagination and friendship with PEACEMINUSONE's distinct visual language. The collection spans more than 70 items, including figures, plush toys, fashion pieces, lifestyle goods and mobile accessories. Characters such as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Rex, Alien and Forky have been reinterpreted alongside the label's recognizable daisy motif.
Promotional visuals shared on G-Dragon's social media gave fans an early look at the crossover, and the imagery spread quickly across fan communities, generating considerable buzz about which characters received the PEACEMINUSONE treatment.
For longtime followers of the artist, The First Fan is the latest in a string of creative ventures that have taken him well beyond music into fashion, design and contemporary culture. This project adds nostalgia to that list, turning familiar characters into collectibles that speak to multiple generations.
