BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Pawssion Project is taking its Supergirl Block Screening for a Cause to Ayala Malls Capitol Central on June 28, giving Bacolod moviegoers a chance to catch the latest superhero film while helping feed, shelter and provide veterinary care for more than 400 rescued animals currently under the organization's care.
Every ticket purchased helps sponsor roughly one month of care for a rescued dog or cat. Those who cannot attend may also buy tickets as straight donations to support the group's ongoing rescue and rehabilitation work.
The Bacolod event follows a successful run at Glorietta 4 in Makati, where volunteers, adopters and animal lovers gathered for the same cause. Beyond the screening, guests visited merchandise and sponsor booths, met rescue ambassadors and learned about adoption, responsible pet ownership and volunteer opportunities.

One of Pawssion Project's inspiring rescue ambassadogs continues to thrive through love, care, and rehabilitation.
Among those at the Manila fundraiser was Yam, a Pawssion Project volunteer and co-leader of Paws and Purpose — the animal welfare employee interest group at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) — alongside Bryan Cabrera, executive director of the Science Research Foundation (SRF) and fellow co-leader of the group. Bryan's Golden Retriever Max, rescued from a backyard breeder, also attended and met fellow rescue ambassadors: Pangky, a dog saved from euthanasia who continues to recover from swimmer's syndrome through therapy, and Meow, a calm and friendly cat still looking for a forever home.

Yam shares a heartwarming moment with Max, whose rescue story reflects Pawssion Project's mission of giving every animal a second chance.
Founded in 2018, Pawssion Project is a Philippine non-profit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abused, abandoned and neglected animals. Since its founding, the organization has rescued more than 3,000 dogs and cats, helped over 2,000 find permanent homes, and continues to care for hundreds more awaiting adoption.
The June 28 screening begins at 4 p.m. at Cinema 1, Ayala Malls Capitol Central. Merchandise and sponsor booths will be on-site, and rescue ambassadors will be available to meet. Tickets may be purchased at tinyurl.com/BacolodSupergirl. For more on Pawssion Project's rescue, adoption and volunteer programs, visit pawssionproject.org.ph.
