Broadway International Group, Broadway Asia Group and AMA Group of Companies, in association with GMG Productions, will present a special Filipino Sign Language (FSL)-interpreted performance of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at The Theatre at Solaire on July 22.

The performance will feature live FSL interpretation by consultants and interpreters from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde's Center for Education Advancement of the Deaf (CEAD) and School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies – Interpreting Education Program (SDEAS-IEP), allowing Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing audiences to fully experience the Broadway musical.

A dedicated orchestra seating section has been reserved for Deaf audience members and their companions, offering optimal sightlines to both the stage and the live interpreters. Tickets for those seats are available through the promo code ACCESSSEATS, which carries a 20% discount. Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing patrons with a valid PWD ID may also use the standard PWD discount at physical TicketWorld outlets.

"Live theatre should be an experience everyone can enjoy," said Marc Routh, CEO of Broadway Asia. "We're proud to continue expanding access to the performing arts through this FSL-interpreted performance. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a story about imagination, possibility, and wonder, and we're excited to help make that experience more inclusive for members of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community."

The initiative builds on GMG Productions' ongoing efforts to make international theatre productions more accessible in the Philippines through partnerships with the Deaf community and sign language professionals.

"Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a dazzling fantasy for everyone from everywhere," said Simone Genatt and Routh, producers and co-owners of Broadway International Group and Broadway Asia. "This new production features miraculous special effects and cutting-edge hologauze 3D technology based on advanced magic principles. We are so excited to share the breathtaking world of this beloved Broadway musical about the power of imagination and the art of invention with Manila audiences in this spectacular new immersive production from an all-Broadway creative team."

Following a sold-out run at Shanghai Culture Square, the show makes its Manila premiere starring Filipino multi-awarded performer Karylle as Mrs. Bucket. Based on Roald Dahl's novel, the musical follows young Charlie Bucket's golden-ticket adventure into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, featuring songs from the classic 1971 film — including "Pure Imagination," "The Candy Man" and "I've Got a Golden Ticket" — alongside an original score by Grammy and Tony Award winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

Renowned Las Vegas magic and illusion designer Tim Clothier, who joins the Broadway creative team, said: "Willy Wonka is the king of imagination, and being able to design new stage wizardry for that character is a dream come true."

Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory runs July 8-26 at The Theatre at Solaire. Tickets are available at TicketWorld. For more information, visit broadwayasia.com or follow @charlieglobaltour on Instagram.

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde's SDEAS empowers the Deaf community through inclusive education, championing Filipino Sign Language, Deaf culture and accessibility, while its CEAD research center works to identify and address barriers in Philippine Deaf education.
